Eric Blom, Ph.D.

Dr. Blom is the co-inventor of the Blom-Singer voice prosthesis. This device has enabled thousands of people who have lost their voices because of cancer to have their voice restored world wide. As a speech therapist, he has dedicated his professional life to the development of voice prostheses and techniques of insertion that has made this the preferred method of acquiring speech after laryngectomy. He is the author of many publications and has traveled extensively to teach surgeons and speech therapist about voice restoration. Dr. Blom's personal experience of fitting thousands of patients with voice prostheses has given him the knowledge and skill to enable patients to quickly regain their voice after laryngectomy. He has provided advice to many physician and therapists and assisted troubleshooting periodic problems they may encountered.
